Professional kitchen hygiene with maximum sustainability
Since 1971, Tana-Chemie GmbH has been researching and developing solutions for professional cleaning in commercial kitchens, the hospitality industry, food service, healthcare, building cleaning and industry. We are a subsidiary of the Werner & Mertz Group, known for the Frosch brand, and operate with over 1,000 employees worldwide. As pioneers in holistic, sustainable cleaning and care products, we overcome the supposed contradiction between outstanding cleaning performance and environmental friendliness. Throughout the entire value chain, we have established pioneering standards in the areas of ecology, economy and social responsibility. This includes the active implementation of the Cradle-to-Cradle® concept, which creates products with a positive footprint through a circular economy in practice. In addition to the increased use of renewable raw materials, we have been committed for many years to the comprehensive use of 100% recycled material, i.e. recycled plastic, in our packaging. Our innovative products have been awarded over 200 environmental certifications. Werner & Mertz’s production facilities also reflect this commitment to sustainability: at our EMAS-certified production sites in Mainz and Hallein, we implement the highest quality and environmental standards; the head office in Mainz has been awarded the ‘LEED Platinum’ certificate; and in 2025, Tana-Chemie once again received the Ecovadis Platinum medal (https://recognition.ecovadis.com/nT3HYnXTBEWr4NkECz0CXg).
Our products provide kitchen operators with the highest standards of hygiene and sustainability – allowing you to focus entirely on your core business. All products are systematically coordinated with one another. They streamline processes and support safe kitchen operations. The range is complemented by technical services, process and dosing advice, as well as on-site training. Digital training tools such as e-learning modules, application videos, and product and safety information round off the offering.
